The Quadra-Trac II® 4x4 system features a two-speed transfer case that uses input from a variety of sensors in order to determine tyre slip at the earliest possible moment and take corrective action. When tyre slippage is detected, as much as 100% of available torque is instantly routed to the axle with the most traction. Choose the Auto mode in the standard Selec-Terrain® traction control system for everyday driving or quickly dial in Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud or Rock for specific driving conditions. Adding another dimension is the Quadra-Lift® air suspension system—it can raise the vehicle for better off-road capability and lower it on-road for better handling and fuel efficiency. NEW JEEP® CHEROKEE
The New Cherokee is available with Active Drive I wwhich cleverly switches between Front Wheel Drive and 4x4 when required and Selec-Terrain® for optimum traction under different road conditions. It is also the first mid-size SUV to feature rear-axle disconnect, resulting in reduced energy loss when 4x4 capability isn’t needed and improving fuel efficiency. The rear-axle disconnect seamlessly switches between two- and four-wheel drive for full-time torque management and does not require input from the driver.
The Jeep® Active Drive II 4x4 system with low-range is ideal for extra low-speed traction. It also has Hill- descent Control for additional piece of mind on tricky winter hillsides. It also offers a neutral mode for flat towing. Active Drive II is the ideal 4x4 system for the challenging seasonal road conditions.
The Jeep® Active Drive Lock 4x4 system is standard equipment on the Cherokee Trailhawk®. It has all the features of the Jeep Active Drive II 4x4 system, but also includes a rear lock and is Trail Rated®. A remarkable crawl ratio allows a more controlled throttle response when driving off-road.
The Selec-Terrain™ traction management system includes: Auto, Snow, Sport, Sand/Mud and Rock modes for all-weather and off-road capability.
The system also adds the advanced Selec-Speed control in off-road mode, which provides additional control.
